Having joined Bank of Valletta plc in 1985, Kenneth Farrugia is now Chief Retail Banking Officer and also sits on the Group's Executive Committee and various bank committees.
His responsibilities today span the retail banking market segment to include microbusinesses covering all retail and microbusiness products and services.
Mr Farrugia is a member of the Board of Directors of BOV Asset Management Ltd and a Director on the board of the Vilhena Funds SICAV plc. In addition, he holds the Chair of the Malta Asset Servicing Association that represents the fund servicing industry in Malta, Chairman of Malita Investments plc, which is listed on the Malta Stock Exchange, Governor on the Board of Governors at FinanceMalta, the national promotional body for the financial services industry, and Chairman of Attard & Co. Group, one of the pre-eminent family owned businesses in Malta.
Bank of Valletta was formed in 1974 following an agreement between the Government of Malta and the Malta Development Corporation. In 1992, it became the first public company to be listed on the Malta Stock Exchange.
The Bank of Valletta Group comprises Bank of Valletta plc and two subsidiary companies, namely BOV Asset Management Ltd and BOV Fund Services Ltd. The Group also has two equity-accounted investee companies: MAPFRE Middlesea plc and MAPFRE MSV Life plc.
