After finishing his studies in Chemistry and Material science, Alistair started his professional carrier with one of the most established companies in the local construction sector. Working as an Operations manager and assisting in a couple of local land mark projects, which gave him both significant experience and appreciation for the construction sector but also for manufacturing and it’s gaps.
After 6 years Alistair joined Universal Import & Export Limited an established company supplying the local manufacturing industry with consumables and equipment mainly in the packaging and labeling aspect.
Joining as Technical Business Manager, Alistair was tasked with developing a newer area of the company which focused more on industrial adhesives, health & safety, Hotmelt systems, powder coating systems, filtration and chemicals.
Alistair’s focus was to provide support, solutions and a service which he himself wanted to receive when he was on the receiving end as Operations Manager.
A couple of years later Alistair was given the opportunity to take on the role of CEO at Universal Import and Export Ltd, where the main objective was to implement the culture change from sales to business across the company.
Alistair is also CEO of sister company Jetho Ltd that was opened in 2020. Jetho’s focus is on development and manufacturing of products targeting the medical and organic waste, while also having a servicing division that installs, maintains and repair’s equipment supplied by Universal Import & Export.
Another main focus for Alistair is the overall vision for Malta from a Business and Manufacturing aspect. As a result Alistair is currently Chairperson for the Young Chamber Network within the Chamber of Commerce, a Committee member in the Family Business & Entrepreneurship committee, a member of the German – Maltese Business Council and also supports the Malta Chamber of Construction Management through Universal Import & Export Ltd as a partner.
